“Coming here, being fulfilled” again…

After nearly a year of growing the first Laiday Refill Station in Thao Dien, District 2, we have the opportunity to design the second one launching just right in Phu My Hung, District 7 with around 60sqm floor area. The design quest this time is how to meet the space utilization requirements in this new plot, but still, ensure to retain the distinctive characteristics of the philosophy that Laiday has been pursuing. The context is a prefabricated space which is constructed by an existing 24ft-container extended with steel frame structure. Inspired by the image of terraced fields, the design proposal is featuring a continuous long shelf which begins from the lobby to the waiting bench, cashier area, refill booth, and then back to the starting point. Although the meandering of the display shelf helps to divide the space into separating “pockets of activities”, it still preserves space connection as a whole generally. The in-out relationship, along with the continuity of displaying space, could provide seamless experience for each visitor when stopping by here./.
